Caprine Kids 4-H Club has just elected new officers. Members are brain storming on some community services ideas and getting barn animals ready for winter. They are noticing that many of their fancy chickens have started moulting and losing feathers. It is very unusual for this to happen in December, but it is probably due to the mild weather we are having.
Members have started stocking up on feed for the winter and they are getting their winter supplies out. For winter, to keep the animals warm and fed, they are getting out their heat lamps and heated water bowls. There is no snow yet, but it is good to be prepared for the cold winter weather that will eventually arrive. (Submitted by Sam Adams, news reporter)
