Braided-N-Banded

Braided-n-Branded 4-H Club met Jan. 7 and elected new officers for 2016. In December, the club sponsored a family and provided gifts and food for Christmas. Now it is looking at community service ideas for 2016, like helping at a soup kitchen or doing yard work for elderly people in Geauga County.

Members also discussed the horse clinics and training for this year. There will be an equine risk management training class offered on April 19 at 7 p.m. and a safety and ethics course on April 30 from 9 a.m. to noon, which is mandatory for all new members and one of their parents/guardians. Also, there will be four combined (English and Western) shows this summer: May 29, June 12, July 17 and Aug. 6. The shows are held at the fair grounds and help club members prepare for The Great Geauga County Fair. (Submitted by Gabby Adams, news reporter)
