The club congratulates the following members who have been elected as the 2016 officers and committee:

Ryan Ivans, president; Kelli Briggs, vice president; Meghan O’Reilly, secretary; Shane Delbo, treasurer; Liesel Fenstermaker, news reporter; Sarah Grinstead, historian; Wesley Wilkes, photographer; Mike Soltis, health chairman; Aiden Sayre, safety chairman; It’saac Hutchinson, recreation; Leah Fine, community service and marketing chairman; Rachel O’Reilly, corresponding secretary; Noah McCaskey, opening/closing officer and sergeant at arms; Emily Skytta, sunshine officer; Jacob Grinstead, webmaster assistant; Avery Taylor, window display; and Emily and Sarah Skytta, junior fair booth chairmen.

The last meeting took place on Jan. 17, where rabbits took book orders and discussed showmanship, played a trivia game and studied their folders. Poultry talked about poultry books, did introductions and discussed 2016 projects. Swine discussed skill-a-thon sheets and preparing for projects. Beef talked about their gain and growth charts and coloring.

Members are asked to bring anything that they are able for a service project to the next meeting. Suggested items are any sizes of shampoo, lotion, disposable razors, Kleenex, toothbrushes, toothpaste, boxes of macaroni and cheese, instant potatoes and peanut butter. Also save any unused coupons and bring to the meeting on Feb 21.

Upcoming important dates include: Feb. 28, Ashtabula County 4-H Rabbit & Cavy Fun Show; March 6-12, Ohio 4-H Week; March 13, meeting with roller-skating after the meeting; June 19-25, 4-H Camp; May 14, Quality Assurance at fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to noon, with registration at 9 a.m. Test out option is April 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Extension Office; May 21, hog tagging; and July 16, Skill-A-Thon. The 2016 4-H Refer a Friend contest forms must be submitted to the Extension Office by 4:30 p.m. on April 15. (Submitted by Liesel Fenstermaker, news reporter)
