Alpha, a 10-week course in the basics of the Christian faith, begins at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at Chardon Christian Fellowship 401 S. Hambden St. This practical introduction to the Christian faith offers answers to some key questions.
Each weekly session begins with a free dinner, followed by a video presentation and small group conversation over dessert. Childcare will be provided.

Lenten Book Discussion Groups
The Spiritual Formation Commission of Federated Church, 76 Bell Street, Chagrin Falls invites the community to participate in a series of book discussions during Lent featuring the book Hungers of the Heart by Richard G. Watts. The book speaks to those who seek an authentic spirituality.
Come meet the author of the book at a Lenten brunch at Federated Church on Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. The cost is $10. Rev. Watts will also be preaching at the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services on Feb. 17. A potluck dinner offering food and fellowship is planned for March 20 at 6 p.m. at Fellowship Hall. Call 440-247-6490 to sign up for the brunch or a book group.

Elderlife Senior Luncheon
The Federated Church Elderlife group will hold its monthly luncheon at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 28 at The Family Life Center, 16349 Chillicothe Road in Bainbridge. Kater to You will cater a hot chicken salad lunch.
Cost is $10 and reservations must be received by Feb. 20 by calling the church at 440-247-6490. Payment can be made at the door with a reservation.
Following lunch, guests will be entertained by bagpiper Tim Reed. Detective Reed is with the Chagrin Falls Police Department and is very active in the community.
