FD Easter Egg Hunt
This is another wonderful Hambden tradition. This Saturday, April 4, our firefighters will be hiding Easter eggs, candy and prizes at our township park. The fun will begin at about 10 a.m.
Group 1 is for children 3 and under; Group 2 is 4-, 5- and 6-year-olds; and Group 3 is age 7 and over.
The groups will start about 10 minutes apart and are in separate roped off areas. Just ask one of our firefighters and they will direct you to the right one.
Be sure to check the eggs because they will contain prizes or candy inside.
This Easter Egg Hunt would not be possible without donations. If you are interested in donating for next year, please do so by purchasing tickets in exchange for your donation.
There will be a drawing of gift baskets at the pavilion after Group 3 finishes.
Thanks to Hambden Alliance Church for providing refreshments again this year and to the Hambden Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt Committee, which sponsors this event.
Spring Trash Day
A sure sign of spring is our annual Spring Trash Day. This year it will be April 25, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Please remember that we don’t take actual trash or yard waste.
Old appliances, building materials, televisions, lawn equipment and miscellaneous items are accepted.
Habitat for Humanity will once again have a truck present for your donations of clean household items in good repair, furniture that has no stains or tears, building materials, light fixtures, bath or kitchen fixtures and again miscellaneous items.
Chemicals or paint are not accepted.
We have received a tire grant again this year and will once again recycle tires. There is a limit of eight tires per household. We can only accept car or light truck tires. No tires can be on rims and we cannot take commercial truck or tractor tires.
Please remember that this trash day is for Hambden residents only and you may be asked for I.D.
Any questions, call Lauri or Mary Ann at the township hall, 440-286-4364.
Computer Recycling
As many of you are aware, there is a container for computer recycling located at the township park. If you bring items up to be recycled, please only leave them if there is room in the recycling box.
As I have let you know, televisions can no longer be accepted, but they are still being dropped off. Please save them for Spring Trash Day. Televisions will be taken at trash day. Thanks for your help with this.
Happy Easter
We hope everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful Easter celebration with their families and friends and that this truly will be the threshold of Spring. Be sure to look for your Spring edition of our Hambden Newsletter the week after Easter.
