Herb Society Meets

Nov. 18, 12:30 p.m.

The Chagrin Valley Herb Society will meet at the Bainbridge Library for refreshments, business meeting and craft. Attendees will make two herbal hand warmers out of old quilts from Jennifer Casa’s book “Vintage Made Modern” and share culinary tools and tips with each other. Bring a needle and thread to the meeting.

Scheid’s Anniversary Celebration

Come celebrate the one year anniversary of Scheid’s Gifts for All Seasons located at Scheid’s Business Park, 13680 Old State Road in Middlefield. All items in the store are local, handmade crafts.

Santa Breakfast, Craft Show

Nov. 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Burton American Legion Auxiliary Post 459 is hosting Breakfast with Santa at the post located on Goodwin Street in Burton.

Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12. Children 5 and under are free.

The auxiliary is also hosting its 16th annual Santa’s Collection Craft Show featuring unique gifts, crafts and toys by area crafters.

Admission to the craft show only is free.

Shopping Extravaganza

Nov. 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Auburn Firedevils, auxiliary to the Auburn Volunteer Fire Department, is hosting its fifth annual arts, crafts and consultants fair at Adam Hall, 11455 Washington St. in Auburn Township.

The hall will be filled with a wide variety of vendors as well as a Chinese auction, food and beverages.

Parkman Feather Party

Nov. 19, 6 p.m.

The Parkman Fire and Rescue Association will hold its annual Feather Party at the Community House in Parkman next to the fire station. Play games for turkeys, hams and stuffed animals. Food and drinks will be available. Questions? Call 440-548-2515.

Benefit Concert Features Spirit Bound

Nov. 19, 7 p.m.


The Geauga County Opiate Task Force and the Red Tulip Project of Geauga are sponsoring a benefit concert featuring Spirit Bound at First Congregational Church of Claridon. Funds raised will help Red Tulip Project build and operate a sober house in Geauga County.

Audubon Travels To Lorain County

Nov. 20, 8 a.m.

Blackbrook Audubon will visit Sandy Ridge Reservation, 6195 Otten Road in North Ridgeville, to search for winter raptors, resident bald eagles and waterfowl. Sandy Ridge offers wetlands, wet woods, and meadow habitats on a long, but flat trail. Bring binoculars and spotting scopes. For more information, call Pat Morse at 440-256-1404, ext. 2101.

Free Thanksgiving Dinner

Nov. 24, 12-3 p.m.

St. Anselm Church is holding its annual free buffet style Thanksgiving dinner in Kelly Hall located on the church grounds,13013 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. All are welcome.

Polka Band Open House

Nov. 27, 12:30-3:30 p.m.

Chardon Polka Band is hosting a Holiday Open House at Sunnybrook Preserve, 12474 Heath Road, Chester Township. The event will include an area to create Christmas crafts, snacks and goodies and an appearance by Santa.

Food Pantry Open

Nov. 25, 10 a.m. to noon

The Food Pantry at Chester Christian Center church will be open to the community. The pantry is open to anyone who is in need of food. One does not need to be a member of the church to come to the pantry.

Chester Christian Center is located at 11815 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township.

iHeart Square Dance

Nov. 27, 6-8 p.m.

Enjoy some modern square dancing to current popular tunes with the iHeart dance group at Munson Township Hall, 12210 Auburn Road. Free and open to all.

Cats on Mats Yoga Class

Nov. 30, 10-11 a.m.

Rescue Village will be offering a Cats on Mats yoga class where a litter of kittens will be let loose to roam amongst the yogis. Donation
is $10. Bring a yoga mat.

Preregistration is not required. Rescue Village is located at 15463 Chillicothe Road, Russell Township.

Venison for Veterans

Hunters may donate their deer to help feed veterans of Geauga County or anyone can make a donation to help pay for the processing of deer for veterans.

Breakfast with Santa

Parkman Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring Breakfast with Santa at the Parkman Community House, 16295 State Route 422. Breakfast With The Clauses

Dec. 3

Munson Township’s annual Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus takes place at the Munson Township Hall, 12210 Auburn Road.

Pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee will be served. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 4 to12. Children under 3 are free.

Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available on a jump drive for $10, with proceeds going to Boy Scout Troop 91.

Sign-up forms may be downloaded at munsontwp.com or picked up at the township office between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Advance registration required.

Rotary Breakfast with Santa

Dec. 3, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Chesterland Rotary Club is hosting its 26th annual all-you-can eat pancake and sausage Breakfast with Santa at the West Geauga High School cafeteria, 13401 Chillicothe Road.

Tickets are $6 per person. Children under 1 year old are free. A framed color photo with Santa is $3. Every child receives a free gift.

Tickets are available at the door or by sending a check to Chesterland Rotary Club, P.O. Box 722, Chesterland, OH 44026. Reserved tickets will be held at the door.

GCRTA Brunch

Dec. 6, 9:45 a.m.

The Geauga County Retired Teachers Association will hold its holiday brunch meeting at The Tanglewood Club, 8745 Tanglewood Trail, Chagrin Falls. Gathering time will be followed by the business meeting at 10 a.m. and a traditional brunch at 10:30 a.m. There will be a 50/50 raffle and free lunch raffle.

Following the meal, Geauga County Park naturalist John Kolar will present “John Muir: Come Home to Nature.”

Cost is $15.40, which includes a $1 donation to the Grant-in-Aid Fund. Reservations required by Nov. 27. Make checks out to GCRTA and mail to: Judy Miller, 17130 Kinsman Road, Middlefield, OH 44062, or call 440-487-4324. Inform Judy of any dietary restrictions.

Consider bringing a newly retired teacher or school personnel to the brunch. Also, bring a donation of canned goods and/or paper products for the Geauga Hunger Task Force.
