Kiwanis Summer Concert Series

July 28, 7 p.m.

The Kiwanis Club of West Geauga’s 38th annual summer concert series at the Chester Township Park gazebo continues with Vanity Crash.

In the event of rain, concerts will be canceled.

Trash and Scrap Tire Collection

July 31, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Troy Township will host its annual trash collection and scrap tire collection event in the parking lot behind the Troy Community House, 13950 Main Market Road. Bring identification to verify township residency.

No liquids, paint, rocks, yard waste, household garbage or hazardous waste will be accepted. All small materials should be consolidated in strong boxes or containers. Mattresses need to have some sort of covering on them.

The event is made possible through a grant received from the Geauga Trumbull Solid Waste Management District. For more information, call the township at 440-834-8614.

Rubber Stamp Sale

July 31, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Montville Crafters will hold their third annual sale of new and gently used rubber stamps and paper crafting supplies at Montville Community Center, 9755 Madison Road, Montville Township. The sale features 30 tables reserved, showing rubber stamps, punches, card stock, embellishments and much more.

Huntsburg Grange Concert

July 31, 6-8 p.m.

Huntsburg Grange summer concerts in the gazebo park located at the corner of state routes 528 and 322 returns with True Country featuring Jim Hein. Food will be available along with a 50/50 raffle and cakewalk. Concert will be held rain or shine; bring a lawn chair.

GCRTA Summer Picnic

Aug. 3, 11:15 a.m. 

The Geauga County Retired Teachers Association will hold an indoor potluck picnic at the Bond Activity Center at Century Village, 14653 E. Park St. in Burton. Gathering time will be followed by a business meeting at 11:30 a.m. and lunch at noon.

Bring a dish to share, table service and beverage. Pulled pork sandwiches will be provided by Pat and Eileen Cataldo.

The group will welcome newly retired teachers and have a special raffle for members who bring guests, in addition to a 50/50 raffle.

Bring paper products or canned goods for the Geauga Hunger Task Force and school supplies for Geauga students. Or, send a check to Special Services of Geauga County to Geauga Jobs and Family Services.

Any retired teacher or school employee is invited to join GCRTA, no matter where the employee worked or currently resides.

Benefit Auction

Aug. 6, 4:30 p.m.

The benefit auction for Middlefield Care Center will be held at the Buster Miller farm, 17719 Newcomb Road, Middlefield. Event includes food, Chinese raffle and bake sale. Quilts sell at 7 p.m.

Wings and Wheels Event

Aug. 7, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Classic Jet Center and Carver Financial are hosting a Wings and Wheels event at Lake County Executive Airport, 1969 Lost Nation Road in Willoughby.

Fly-in and drive-in; there is no registration fee for planes or cars. All planes are welcome. Registration and staging is from 9-11 a.m.

Trophies for Best in Show and People’s Choice will be awarded at 2 p.m. Food will be available.
