WG Plaza Trick Or Treat

Oct. 21, 4-6 p.m.

The merchants at West Geauga Plaza in Chester Township are hosting a Halloween Trick or Treat for children ages 2-12 accompanied by an adult. Dress in costume, bring a treat bag and stop by the plaza stores for treats.

Outreach Spaghetti Dinner

Oct. 21, 6-7 p.m.

Christ Presbyterian Church offers free outreach spaghetti dinners the third Thursday of each month. Dinners are drive-thru only. The church is located at 12419 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township.

GCPL Trunk or Treat

Oct. 22, 6 p.m.

Families pass out candy from their cars and kids trick-or-treat throughout the parking lot at the Bainbridge Public Library. Decorated cars are encouraged.

Chardon VFW Clambake

Oct. 23, 5:30-7 p.m.

Chardon VFW Post 6519’s annual clambake will be held at the post located at 752 Water St. Cost is $30 per person for one dozen clams and half a chicken dinner with sides, and $10 for an extra dozen clams by preorder only. There will be a $500 drawing. Only 100 tickets will be sold, which are available in the canteen.

Bluegrass Jamboree

Oct. 23, 6 p.m.

Hambden Grange will host Mark Posey’s Doghouse Entertainment Bluegrass Jamboree, featuring Vertical Limit and Hidden Drive.

Doors open at 6 p.m.; the show starts at 7 p.m. Food stand is available. Tickets are $12 for adults and free for children under 12.

The Grange is located at 9778 Old State Road, Chardon.

Audubon Monitors Mentor Preserve

Oct. 24, 8 a.m.

Accompany Blackbrook Audubon on their monthly Important Bird Area (IBA) walk at Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve. Meet at the entrance gate to the utility pipeline access road by the intersection of Woodridge Lane and Forest Road in Mentor Headlands. It will be a closed program with group birding together.

Woodlands Wednesdays Workshop

Oct. 27, 3-5 p.m.

Join for a tour of the Arboretum at Punderson, which contains over 60 species of trees found in Northeast Ohio. Alan Siewert, Arboretum curator and urban forester, will provide an overview of the arboretum and introduce the online treasure map to tree species.

Meet at the Punderson State Park Marina Pavilion, 11755 Kinsman Road, Newbury Township. Smart phones are recommended and costumes are encouraged.

Collaborators include Natural Resources Conservation Service, Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Division of Forestry, Farm Bureau and Ohio Division of Wildlife.

Trunk or Treat

Oct. 28, 6:30 p.m.

Geauga County Sheriff’s Office hosts Trunk or Treat at the Geauga County Safety Center, 12450 Merritt Road, Chardon.

WGRC Trick or Treat Street

Oct. 30, 5-7 p.m.

West Geauga Recreation Council (WGRC) is hosting its first annual Trick or Treat Street at the WGRC campgrounds, 8611 Cedar Road, Chester Township, adjacent to the middle school parking lot.
