CV Herb Society Meets

The Chagrin Valley Herb Society will be meet at Breezewood Gardens, 17600 Chillicothe Road, Bainbridge Township. Whitney Ikes will present “A Glimpse of Spring.” Refreshments and a meeting will follow.

Meatloaf Dinner

Jan. 21, 5-7 p.m.

Enjoy a meatloaf dinner with sides and desserts at Parkman Congregational Church, 18265 Madison Road, Parkman Township. Dinner is drive-through, carryout only.

Cost is $12. Proceeds benefit missions.

49th Anniversary of Roe v Wade

Jan. 22, 1 p.m.

A 49-minute vigil will be held on Chardon Square marking the U.S. Supreme Court decision of Roe v Wade and women’s access to private and legal health care. Join in solidarity for a women’s right to choose; one minute to mark each year since it became the law of the land.

Meal Delivery Volunteers Needed

The Geauga County Department on Aging is in need of Home Delivered Meal drivers in the Chardon area. The meal routes start at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive.

The Home Delivered Meals program delivers warm, nutritious lunches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday to homebound seniors.

The department on aging is looking for area agencies, organizations, church groups and individuals 18 years old or over with a valid driver’s license. Training includes filing volunteer paperwork and a short orientation. Volunteers can deliver meals on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or as needed/substitute basis.

Chardon VFW Pancake Breakfasts

Sundays, Jan. 23 to April 10

Chardon VFW Post 6519 will be serving its annual pancake breakfasts every Sunday, Jan. 23 through April 10, from 8 a.m. to noon at the post located at 752 Water St. in Chardon. Senior and kids menus are available. Breakfast features four flavors of pancakes, French toast, eggs made to order, sausage, bacon, ham, home fries, toast and beverages. Audubon Bird Walk

Jan. 23, 8 a.m.

Join Blackbrook Audubon for its monthly Important Bird Area walk at Mentor Marsh State Nature Preserve. Meet at the entrance gate to the utility pipeline access road by the intersection of Woodridge Lane and Forest Road in Mentor Headlands.

Geauga County Master Gardener Volunteers will host a free webinar with Summit County Master Gardener Jeanne Poremski. Learn about all the amazing insects that visit flowers.

Spring Tree Sale

April 22 and 23 

Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is holding its spring tree sale. The sale offers a streamlined selection of both bareroot seedlings and 1-3 gallon container trees and shrubs. Rain barrels are also available.
