Community Yard and Trunk Sales

July 8 and 9, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Middlefield Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring its annual community yard and trunk sales. Yard sales will take place throughout the Middlefield area. The trunk sale will take place at Harrington Square parking lot. Watch for signs, printed maps and Google Maps to help navigate the sales.

The Chamber is hosting a raffle for an electric bike valued at $2,000 from Pedego Middlefield. Tickets are $10 each.

There will also be a craft and vendor show at Burton Health Care & Rehabilitation Center on July 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

MHS Garage Sale

July 8, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Middlefield Historical Society will hold its annual garage sale in conjunction with Middlefield Chamber of Commerce’s community-wide sale at Century Inn Underloft, 14979 South State Ave., Middlefield Village.

Find furniture, antiques, holiday/home décor, books, housewares and more. Prices will be reduced at noon on Saturday. Call 440-241-2192 for more information.

Rummage Sale

July 9, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A rummage sale will be held at the Claridon Town Hall, state Route 322 at Claridon-Troy Road. All proceeds will go to the building fund of Claridon Congregational Church to restore the sanctuary after the collapse of the ceiling in 2021.

Benefit Flea Market

July 9, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sign on as a vendor or shop for treasures at the 16th annual Geauga County Chapter of the Ohio Horseman’s Council’s (OHC) benefit flea market being held in the picnic shelters area of The West Woods, 9465 Kinsman Road in Russell Township.

Vendors may pay $25 for two parking spaces or $15 for a picnic table inside the shelter.

All vendor fees benefit the OHC and Bridle Trail Fund, administered by the Foundation for Geauga Parks on behalf of the Geauga County Chapter of the Ohio Horseman’s Council.

NEOCAG Meeting

July 9, 9:15 a.m.

The NorthEast Ohio Computer-Aided Genealogy Society will hold its monthly meeting online via Zoom. The meeting opens at 9:15 a.m., with the presentation beginning at 9:45 a.m.

Writer, teacher and national genealogical speaker Kelli Bergheimer will present “Using Aggregators to Organize Your Leads.”

Car and Bike Show

July 10, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Join for a day of classic cars, bikes, trucks and more at Chardon Area Chamber of Commerce’s 12th annual Car and Bike Show on Chardon Square. The free event will also feature raffles, a silent auction, 50-50 raffle, food and live music.

Entry fee is $10 per vehicle. Registrants receive a T-shirt and dash plaque. Registration and breakfast begins at 8 a.m.

Geauga Skywatchers Club

Kiwanis Summer Concert Series

July 13, 7-9 p.m.

The Kiwanis Club of West Geauga’s annual summer concert series at the Chester Township Park gazebo opens with the Swamp Rattlers playing a repertoire of rock, blues, and country tunes.

There’s A MAP for That

July 14, 6-8 p.m.

The Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District and the Geauga County Auditors Office are collaborating to present “There’s A MAP for That” at the Geauga County Public Library Administrative Center, 12701 Ravenwood Drive, Chardon. Free and open to the public, the hands-on introductory program will guide property owners through the process of using online resources to investigate and map natural features of parcels in Geauga County. Learn about Geauga County’s REALink property information system.

Christian Women’s Connection

All About Beekeeping

July 23, 9-11 a.m.

Susan Dunlap, Geauga County Master Gardener Volunteer and beekeeper of 10 years, will present All About Beekeeping at the OSU Extension Office, Patterson Center, 14269 Claridon Troy Road, Burton. The free presentation will include basic bee biology, the responsibilities and challenges of being a beekeeper, the necessity of bees in the environment and essential beekeeping equipment required.

Huntsburg Grange Concert

July 23, 6-8 p.m.

Huntsburg Grange’s bandstand concert features country music with Jim Hein. Food will be available along with a 50/50 raffle, cake walk and church bake sale. Bring a lawn chair.

The concert is sponsored by Ohman Family Living at Blossom. In case of rain, the concert will be held in town hall opera house.

WomenSafe Wine Tasting

July 28, 6-9 p.m.

The annual Friends of WomenSafe wine tasting will take place at Sharon James Winery, 11303 Kinsman Road, Newbury Township. Enjoy a four-course dinner with wine pairings for each course, live entertainment, a wine pull, raffle prizes, and silent and live auctions.

Cost is $50 per person. Discounts are available for those who do not wish to have wine.

VFW Post 6519 Golf Outing

Aug. 6

Chardon VFW Post 6519 is hosting its 10th annual golf outing at Chardon Lakes Golf Course. The four-person scramble begins at 10 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Cost is $85 per person and includes golf, lunch and a steak dinner at the post. Sponsorships are available.

Middlefield Chamber Golf Outing

Register for the annual Middlefield Chamber of Commerce golf outing at Rolling Green Golf Club in Huntsburg Township. Cost is $340 for a team or $85 per player. Registration for the four person scramble is from 8-8:45 a.m. with players teeing off at 9 a.m. Event includes lunch at the turn and dinner.
