Saturdays in the Country will return to Burton Square, offering a vendor-focused event featuring unique shopping and locally made goods.

Democracy by Design

The League of Women Voters of Geauga County celebrates art and democracy at the second annual Democracy by Design at Chardon Fairmount Center for the Arts, 106 Water St., Chardon. The benefit will feature more than 100 artworks from over 40 local artists.

Audubon Potluck Picnic

Blackbrook Audubon will host its annual potluck picnic on World Sea Turtle Day beside East Branch Reservoir at Headwaters Park. Meet at the lodge located at 13365 Old State Road in Claridon Township.

Behavioral Health and First Responders Job Fair

Ravenwood Health, the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office and Kent State University at Geauga will host a Behavioral Health and First Responders Job Fair at Kent State Geauga, 14111 Claridon-Troy Road, Burton.
The event will feature career opportunities in law enforcement, fire service, hospital and behavioral health, as well as positions for case managers, peer supporters and medical professionals. Attendees can network with employers, learn about training and certification pathways, receive resume assistance and professional headshots, and view emergency vehicle displays.

Museum Open House
June 20 and July 18, 1-4 p.m.
The Bainbridge Township Historical Society will open the Bissell-Tucek Museum, 17870 Chillicothe Road in Heritage Park.
Visitors can explore exhibits highlighting Bainbridge Township history, including displays on the former Geauga Lake racetrack, the invention of the Gradall excavator by Bainbridge residents, and a recovered airplane wing from the 1929 mail plane crash on the Haskins farm property, now part of Tanglewood.
The museum also features local artifacts and information about Bainbridge’s history, including the legacy of Carleton Lowe, who introduced the tuberous begonia that became the township’s official flower.

Chardon All-Class Alumni Dinner
June 20, 5:30 p.m.
Chardon High School will host its annual All-Class Alumni Dinner at St. Mary’s Banquet Hall, 401 North St., Chardon. A beef and chicken buffet will be served at 6:30 p.m. A cash bar (BYOB) will be available.
Several classes will be in attendance, and high school memorabilia will be on display.
Six inductees to the Chardon High School Alumni Hall of Fame will be honored at the dinner. Recipients of Chardon High School Alumni Association scholarships also will be recognized.
CHS Principal Tomco will lead a tour of the high school at 4 p.m. before the dinner.

Geauga PERI Meets

EAA Pancake Breakfast
June 27, 7-11 a.m.
EAA Chapter 5 pilots will host a pancake breakfast at Geauga County Airport, 15421 Old State Road, Middlefield.
Breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, coffee and drinks. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 3-12; children under 3 are free.
Free Young Eagles airplane rides for ages 8-17, with parental permission, and hands-on youth activities also will be offered.

Yoder Brothers Reverse Raffle

Tickets are now available for the seventh annual Yoder Brothers Memorial Scholarship Foundation Reverse Raffle to be held at Generations Event and Reception Center in Chester Township. The event includes dinner, open bar, games and a DJ. A virtual silent auction will be held July 10-17.
