Coffee & Chocolate

Dec. 3, 10-11 a.m.

Enjoy a cup of coffee and a piece of chocolate while learning about the important role shade-grown grown coffee and chocolate products play in saving neotropical migrant and local bird species, conserving forest habitat and more. The program will be held at The West Woods Nature Center in Russell Township.

Discussion will also touch on the details of creating a local coffee club to purchase this coffee at a discount. No registration is required.

Art Takes a Bough Reception

Dec. 7, 6-9 p.m.

Presented for a 11th and final year with the Geauga Council for Arts & Culture, all are invited to enjoy and purchase handmade holiday ornaments created by regional artists through the Art Takes a Bough Community Art Project at the West Woods Nature Center in Russell Township. Refreshments will be served.

Bill Hixson, accomplished floral designer who has assisted with holiday decorating at The White House for more than 30 years, will share stories centered on decorating various rooms within the White House, share folklore surrounding ornament designs and holiday traditions. Some of his ornaments will also be available for sale and signing.

Fifty percent of sales go directly to the artist, while the remainder is split evenly between the Geauga Council for Arts & Culture and Geauga Park District.

Ho Ho Ho Hiking with Santa and Buddy the Elf

Dec. 9, 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Discover the wonders of the season on a magical hike with Santa Claus and Buddy the Elf – a great photo opportunity – at The West Woods in Russell Township. Santa will also be available after the hike for photos and wish lists.

Registration is required. Sign up on the waiting list if the event is full; another hike may be added if there is demand.
