Mark Calendars For Ropes & Boats

This year’s season of high ropes course at Claridon Woodlands opens May 26, with weekly hours Friday through Tuesday 12:30-8 p.m. through Sept.10. Up to eight people can go up at once for adventures starting at 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, 4, 5, 6 and 7 p.m.

Also, kayaks and canoes can be borrowed from the Headwaters Park Boathouse beginning June 2, Fridays through Tuesdays from 1-8 p.m. through Sept. 17.

The amenities are all first-come, first-served and free to Geauga County residents (ID required). Out-of-county charges vary depending on activity.

Duckwatching By The Fire

Drop by Headwaters Park’s Boathouse on March 24, anytime between 1 and 5 p.m. to help a naturalist tally how many ducks and other water birds can be found and identified on the East Branch Reservoir.

Bring binoculars, spotting scope, camera and chair to help keep the list. Participants will enjoy the view mainly from the Boathouse shelter area, where a cozy stone fireplace will keep everyone warm.

No registration is required.
