Class of 2017 Retreat
Guided by a team of seniors and Link Crew leaders, members of NDCL’s class of 2017 focused on the school’s core value of community as they participated in their first class retreat on Aug. 28.
“It was nice to get to know new people in our class and bond by working together,” said freshman John Delahunty. “The seniors and Link Crew leaders are so nice and have really helped us feel welcome here.”
Students participated in a series of community-building activities and prayer experiences as they worked through the challenges of the low ropes course on our campus.
“The retreat really focused on the importance of community and that each of us has to gift to give to God,” said freshman Isabella Varga. “The trust and team building activities offered us a chance to work together and learn from each other.”
In their discussions and reflections, retreat leaders encouraged the freshmen to see the presence of God in the many relationships that form community at school, in their families and in other aspects of their lives. They celebrated God’s presence in all of these relationships during the retreat’s closing Mass. Father John Blazek from Gilmour Academy led the students in prayer.
