Fall Trash Day
Fall Trash Day will take place at the township park Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to noon. The township will also be offering secure shredding to residents from 9 a.m. to noon. No yard waste, garbage, paint or hazardous chemicals will be accepted. Paint cans must be empty, with any excess completely dry. The township will accept old appliances, scrap building materials, lawn mowers and boats.
Call the township hall at 440-286-4364 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with any questions.
Habitat For Humanity
Habitat for Humanity will be bringing its truck to the township’s fall trash day. The truck will be there from approximately 9 a.m. to noon to accept donations for its local store.
The funds raised at its Re-store will help local families achieve their dream of home ownership.
If one has any gently used furniture, appliances or building materials, please consider bringing them up to trash day to donate. Upholstered furniture cannot have any rips or stains and all appliances must be in working order.
Free Coffee Mondays
Hambden Congregational Church is serving free coffee on Mondays from 6-8:30 a.m. The drive-through coffee service will continue each and every Monday morning until weather becomes prohibitive.
Plan on stopping by to enjoy a free cup of Monday morning coffee. The church is located at 13840 GAR Hwy., across from Hambden Elementary School.
Thanks go to everyone at the church for providing yet another great service to Hambden residents.
New Walking Trail
Be sure to check out the newly extended walking trail at the township park. Through the efforts of the park board and Trustee Keith McClintock, the township applied for and received a NatureWorks grant that offset much of the cost of the trail.
The road crew provided the sweat equity and now Hambden has a completed project that can truly benefit its residents. Come take a walk while the weather is still beautiful and enjoy fall in Hambden.
