Thank You, Road Crew
A huge thank you goes out to the road crew, Dave Heald, Dan Brazis and Dale Smith, as well as Hambden firefighters and the crew from Dominion East Ohio Gas for safely handling an emergency in front of township hall during last week’s snowstorm. The main gas line in front of the township hall was hit and the latch key program at Hambden Elementary had to be evacuated to the fire department.
Luckily, Just for Kidz was far enough away and the children were able to stay until parents could circumvent closed roads and find a way to safely pick them up. It took several hours to cap the gas line and the township was very blessed that there was no explosion thanks to everyone’s quick thinking and handling of the situation.
Here’s hoping that this isn’t a hint of the winter everyone has to look forward to. I know though that no matter what winter has in store for Hambden residents, the road crew and the state and county workers will do all they can to keep the roads as safe as possible for everyone. Please slow down and adjust driving to suit the weather. Stay safe and warm this winter.
Thank You, Hambden Voters
Thanks go to the Hambden voters who supported the renewal of the township’s permanent improvement levy in the November election. The trustees and fiscal officer will always do all they can to keep taxes as low as possible, while still stretching every dollar as far as they can to provide the best possible services.
