Live Nativity In Hambden

Hambden Congregational Church will continue its tradition of presenting a live Nativity on Dec. 13 from 5-8 p.m. There is no cost for the wonderful event.

Bring the whole family. The church is located on GAR Highway across from Hambden Elementary School.

Holiday Open House

The Nest is a vintage chic home decor shop owned by Stephanie and Kevin Talty, Hambden residents who have gone all out for the holidays. They are hosting a holiday open house on Dec. 7 from noon to 5 p.m. There will be refreshments, desserts and great giveaways.

During their 12 Days of Christmas, Dec. 9-23, there will be amazing savings each day. Be sure to check them out. The shop is located at 520 Water St. in Chardon.

Bryant’s Forever Green

Bryant’s Forever Green Landscape and Garden Center opened its holiday shop last weekend. Be sure to check it out for seasonal plants, arrangements, Christmas trees and many other holiday items.

The Garden Center is located at 14105 GAR Hwy. Stop in and see the beautiful items it has that help to bring Christmas to Hambden.

Winter Reminders

Just a couple of reminders for winter snow plowing: Please do not push snow out into the road or across the road when plowing the driveway. It is not only illegal, but can also be very dangerous for other drivers and mail delivery.

When one piles the snow up around mailboxes, it can make it very difficult to deliver the mail as well as contribute to destruction of mailbox posts. The township is responsible if the plow truck actually hits the mailbox, but not if it is broken by flying snow. The more snow around the post, the more to fly up and cause damage.

If a mailbox is hit, the township will reimburse the resident $35 or install a new standard mailbox/post. The mailbox must be damaged beyond reasonable repair to be eligible for a new one. The road department superintendent will make this determination. The township hopes everyone will have a safe winter.

No Dogs Allowed

As much as the township does not like limiting access to any township properties, trustees must ask residents to stop walking their dogs in the township cemetery. Many residents have complained about the situation and the fact that some people are not cleaning up after their dogs. There are plenty of places in the township park to walk dogs. Signs will be posted in the cemetery.

Township Offices Closed

Township offices will be closed Nov. 27 and 28. They will reopen Dec. 1 at 9 a.m. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
