Pancakes at the Grange
Hambden Grange 2482 is gearing up for another season of amazing pancake breakfasts. The next one is Feb. 1 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The all-you-can-eat breakfast includes pancakes with maple syrup, corn fritters, fruit, sausage, juice, cocoa and coffee.
The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. The Grange is located at 9778 Old State Road in Hambden.
The Grange will be doing it all again for a Valentine pancake breakfast on Feb. 15.
Township Hall Hours
Just a reminder, the township hall office is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you have a question or concern, please do not hesitate to stop in or call and we’ll do all we can to help. The phone number is 440-286-4364.
The zoning office hours are 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. most days, but please call for an appointment because the zoning inspector does spend quite a bit of time in meetings and doing inspections. Her phone number is 440-286-4423.
Township Hall Rentals
If anyone is interested in renting the hall for a gathering, please call administrative assistant Mary Ann Dottore Tuesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. You can also leave her a message and she will get back to you the next business day.
Lately, there has been a real problem with persons renting the hall leaving cigarette butts in the area near the side doors. We realize that the smoking area is across the parking lot, but this is the only area where smoking is permitted and there is a receptacle there for disposing of cigarette butts.
The rental agreement has recently been amended to provide that if the road crew has to clean up this area after use because of this problem, the $100 security deposit will be forfeited.
Please read the agreement carefully when renting the hall and abide by all regulations. We want to keep it available for our residents, but the road crew is small and they don’t have time to clean up after rentals. Please note that the hall is only available for rent to Hambden Township residents.
Recycling Area
As stated above, the road crew is pretty busy, so if anyone dropping off recyclables and the front bins are full, please do not place any articles on the ground. Check the bins in the back and use those. If all bins are full, then come back in a couple of days after they are emptied.
Also, do not leave any garbage. Geauga County Sheriff’s Deputy Matsik, will check all garbage left at the recycling center and contact those who do this. It is against the law and violators can be cited for dumping their garbage at the recycling center.
Thanks for following these few simple rules.
