Pancakes at the Grange
Hambden Grange 2482 will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast April 19 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be its final pancake breakfast of the season until November. Breakfast will include pancakes with maple syrup, corn fritters, fruit, sausage, juice, cocoa and coffee. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. The Grange is at 9778 Old State Road, just across from Mapledale.
Spring Trash Day
Spring Trash Day will be held April 25 at the township park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please remember, actual trash and yard waste will not be accepted.
Appliances, building materials, televisions, lawn equipment and miscellaneous items will be accepted.
Habitat for Humanity will once again have a truck present for donations of clean household items in good repair, furniture that has no stains or tears, building materials, light fixtures, bath or kitchen fixtures and miscellaneous items.
Chemicals or paint are not accepted.
The township has received a tire grant again this year and will once again recycle tires. There is a limit of eight tires per household. Car or light truck tires only; no commercial truck or tractor tires. All tires must be removed from the rims.
Trash day is for Hambden residents only. Residents may be asked for I.D.
For more info, call Lauri or Mary Ann at the township hall at 440-286-4364.
Computer Recycling
The township is no longer accepting televisions in the computer recycling bin. Televisions are still filling up the bin, however. If the televisions continue to be dropped in there, the bin will have to be removed completely. The person recycling the computers has nowhere to recycle televisions and neither does the township. Televisions will be taken one time, at spring trash day. Please do not drop them off at any other time.
Hambden Highlights
The spring edition of the township newsletter should be arriving this week. If anyone does not receive one, please call the township hall at 440-286-4364 to have one sent out and to be put on the mailing list for next time.
