Election Information
Election Day is Nov. 3. Hambden Township has two issues on the ballot this fall.
The first is a renewal of a 1.5-mill fire levy. The levy will generate approximately $178,219 per year at 100 percent collection and will cost the owner of a single family, owner occupied home $45.55 per year per $100,000 of value.
There is also the renewal of a .25-mill recreational levy. The levy will generate an estimated $29,703 per year at 100 percent collection and will cost the owner of a single family, owner occupied home $7.59 per year per $100,000 of value.
The township’s fire levy dollars are used for protective equipment, fuel, replacing worn equipment and saving for ambulances and fire trucks, just to name a few items.
Park levy funds are used for maintenance of the township’s playground, tree removal and plantings, upkeep of the pavilions and purchase of new playground equipment. There are many other projects as well, such as upkeep of the ball fields and making Pavilion 1 ADA accessible.
The list of what these funds do could go on and on, but trustees want the public to know that Hambden’s tax dollars are being wisely spent to benefit its residents.
