Alzheimer’s Association Helpline

Call the Alzheimer’s Association’s free toll-free Helpline at 800-272-3900 to speak with a dementia expert any time of the day or night. Master’s degree-level counselors and social workers are available 24/7 to provide information about the disease, medications, treatment options, safety, caregiving, local resources in Geauga County, services, referrals and problem-solving through complex care issues.

County Offers Flu Shots

Geauga County Health District will provide flu shots for anyone 19 years and older every first and third Friday during the season from 8:30-11 a.m. at 470 Center St., Building 8, Chardon.

The cost to individuals paying in cash is $37, or, for high-dose vaccine for those 65 and older, $61. The health district is able to accept most Medicare and employer health insurance plans.

No appointment is necessary, but residents may call the health district at 440-279-1950 to preregister and have insurance verified.

Flu Shots Available

Lake Health is offering quadrivalent flu shots for $30 at the Chardon Campus Urgent Care Center, 510 Fifth Ave., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

No appointment is necessary. Individuals must be 18 years of age or older to receive the seasonal flu vaccine at our centers. The influenza vaccination is covered by Medicare.
