The Geauga County General Health District offers walk-in immunization clinics for children and adolescents through the age of 18. Residents must present an immunization record as well as a primary insurance card.

Health And Wellness Fair
Aug. 5, 9 a.m. to noon
New Promise Church will host a Health and Wellness Fair at the church, 8671 Euclid-Chardon Road in Kirtland. There will be school backpacks and supplies, children’s haircuts, dental services, vision screening, pharmacy, food and education booths.
This free event is available to those who are unemployed, underemployed or just in need of these services. Children must be present to receive backpacks and school supplies.

LGRC Appreciation Day Picnic

Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers is holding their 18th annual Appreciation Day Picnic at Lake House, 796 Oak St. in Painesville. Guest speaker is Tracy Plouck, director of Ohio Mental Health & Addiction Services.

Discover the Hope
Sept. 21, 8 a.m. to noon
The Geauga County Family First Council along with several Geauga County social service groups will be hosting a discussion, “Discover the Hope: In Opiate Treatment and Recovery,” at St Mary’s Banquet Room, 401 North St., Chardon.
Target audience will be social service professionals, community leaders, first responders and safety center officials.
Keynote speaker will by Dr. Ted Parran, a leading expert on abuse, addiction and treatment. Local mental health experts will be sharing local resources in Geauga County and discussing what treatment looks like. Personal success stories will be shared by those in recovery.
