Hello from Geauga County Amish Country
The sun was shining the morning of May 20 and the birds were singing.
The sun was shining the morning of May 20 and the birds were singing. Baby animals are “frisking out” in the pastures. It’s spring.
The funeral of Crist P. Miller, age 90, of Burton-Windsor Road, was on May 18. His wife, Mary Alice, and eight children survive. Coming from Mio, Mich., for the funeral were John and Esther Miller, Mrs. Barbara Byler, Sam and Ada Schmucker, Katie Byler and possibly more. John and Esther overnighted at my place. Coming for the evening at my place to visit with John and Esther on Saturday were Saloma and son Levi Jr., Crist and Clara Hershberger, Crist and Ada Yoder, Perry, Richard and Amanda, Ray, Dan and Sylvia, all Millers, and Rosanna and children. We had a very nice time visiting.
Our thoughts and prayers are much with the family of Joseph and Rosanna Miller. Joseph had an accident while working, being hit by a limb and is now paralyzed from the chest down. They had only been married for around seven months. Also, falling at work was Lester, son of Dan Mast of Newcomb Road, having head injuries. He is in rehab. Lester and Dorothy Miller had plans to be married this month, but the wedding has been put off to a later date.
The wedding of my granddaughter Sarah, daughter of son Joe and Saloma, and Christian, son of Mahlon and Rosanna Hostetler, is May 23. When coming home from getting a chiropractor treatment, Saloma stepped down off the buggy and twisted her ankle. So, now she has a very sore foot to deal with while getting last minute things done for the wedding. Like people say, “When it rains, it pours.”
Visitors at Dan and Sylvia Miller’s the evening of May 19 were Joe and Saloma Miller, Bob and Mary Lou Miller, Dan and Leona Gingerich and Ray and Judy Miller. This was also the day of Dan and Sylvia’s wedding and anniversary.
This week was a busy one. I had to run errands in town on Tuesday, and on Wednesday, my family was helping getting ready for the wedding at son Joe’s being held Thursday. I have 12 wedding invitations so far for May and June.

Chuckles: Gym Class
The teacher walks into class and yelled, “All right, everybody on their backs,” to the third-grade class. “Pretend you’re riding a bike.”
Dropping to the floor, the students began kicking their legs in the air except one little boy who slowly moved one leg in the air while keeping the other on the floor.
“What’s wrong?” the teacher asked.
“Isn’t it obvious?” said the boy. “I’ve got a flat.”
You all enjoy spring.
