Lions Roar Past Tigers – Congrats to Ben Malbasa
Lions Roar Past The Tigers
Congratulations to coach Ben Malbasa and the entire NDCL football team for their 16-6 win over the Chagrin Falls Tigers in the Cleveland Browns’ High School Game of the Week.
Each week, four panelists nominate a game for the High School Game of the Week poll. After fans vote for their choice at ClevelandBrowns.com, the winning team receives a special mention on the “Cleveland Browns High School Football Show,” presented by PNC Bank each Saturday.
As the winning team, NDCL will receive $2,000 for its football program. Coach Malbasa and game MVP senior Devin Carney, who had a 42-yard fumble return for a touchdown, a blocked kick, two fumble recoveries and two sacks, will also be honored on the field during a Browns’ home game.

DiFranco Rushes For A Cause
Senior Dominic DiFranco plans to rack up some impressive stats this football season and help others at the same time by participating in Rush for a Cause (RFAC).
Started in 2009 by Matt Galland, a student-athlete at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School, RFAC supports high school athletes suffering from catastrophic injuries. RFAC now helps young athletes across the country.
“I love to play football and thought what better way to make a difference than to do my best at something I love,” explained Dominic. “I would like to do my part to help those who have lost their ability to do what our football team will do every Friday night: compete!”
Dominic has set a goal of raising $10,000 for RFAC this season.
“It is a very large goal but I truly believe that it can be reached, and even passed.”
Please consider supporting Dominic by making a donation to RFAC on his donation page or by making a pledge based upon the number of yards Dominic rushes during the season. The more yards he rushes, the greater the donation. One may place a cap on the total donation.
Donations, with checks made payable to Rush For A Cause, may also be sent to: Rush For A Cause, P.O. Box 41327, Brecksville, OH 44141. Please write Dominic DiFranco or NDCL on the memo line so the donation is applied to his goal.
“I feel blessed to be part of this great community and truly value what it means to be a Lion,” Dominic said. “Just like our mission states, I strive to be a leader who transforms the world.”
