Meet Your Representatives
On April 8, Hambden Township will host a “Get to Know your Representative Night.” State Sen. Capri Cafaro, Congressman David Joyce, Sen. John Ecklund and state Rep. John Patterson will be at Hambden Township Hall at 6:30 p.m.
They will be discussing issues of local importance such as fracking, roads and bridges, school funding and taxes. They would all like to meet Hambden residents and answer any questions they might have.
Township hall is at 13887 GAR Highway, next to Hambden Elementary School.
Fire Dept. Easter Egg Hunt
Thank you so much to Maria Cocco and everyone at the Hambden Fire Department for again having another amazing Easter egg hunt. It was a little cold but all of the children having such a wonderful time made it a perfect morning.
Again, thanks to everyone for all they do for the township.
Help Needed
Residents are needed to serve on the Hambden Township Audit Committee and Zoning Board of Appeals. Anyone interested in receiving more information concerning these positions is encouraged to call the township hall between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 440-286-4364. Mary Ann or Lauri will be glad to provide all the information.
Spring Trash Day
Because of the move of the date of the Maple Festival to the last weekend in April, Spring Trash Day has been moved up to the third Saturday in April. On April 20, residents may bring all of their accumulated “trash” to the township park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The township cannot take garbage, yard waste, hazardous chemicals or paint that is not dried in the can. Appliances do not have to have the Freon removed. Electronics will not be accepted; however, there is a computer recycling container at the park year round.
Tire recycling will be offered; no commercial truck or tractor tires. All tires must be removed from the rims.
Shredding will not be offered this spring.
For more information, call the township hall at 440-286-4364.
Hambden Community Picnic
Looks like this year’s picnic is a go. A few new residents have shown an interest in helping out and let’s face it, it’s hard to let such a long standing tradition go.
The community picnic will take place Aug. 11 from 1-5 p.m. at the township park.
A band has been booked and Banjo the Clown will be back. I’ll let you know when the committee will be meeting to finalize more of the details.
Pancakes at The Grange
The Hambden Grange will be serving a fantastic pancake breakfast again on April 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The all-you-can-eat breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, bacon, corn fritters, juice, cocoa and coffee.
Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under. The Grange is located at 97778 Old State Road in Hambden. Hope to see you there.
