Meet Your Representatives
Thanks to everyone who attended Monday’s Meet Your Representative meeting. In addition, thank you to our representatives for taking time from their busy schedules to meet with township residents and address their questions and concerns.
Fire Dept. Easter Egg Hunt
Maria Cocco and the members of the Hambden Fire Department Easter egg hunt committee would like to thank all of the businesses that donated prizes for the raffle: Giant Eagle, Wal-Mart, Sages Apples and Richards Maple Products. Thanks also go to all the folks who participated in the raffle with their monetary donations.
The committee is on its way to preparing next year’s event and hopes that everyone enjoyed this year’s Easter egg hunt.
Help Needed
Residents are needed to serve on the Hambden Township Audit Committee and Zoning Board of Appeals. Anyone interested in receiving more information concerning these positions is encouraged to call the township hall between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 440-286-4364. Mary Ann or Lauri will be glad to provide all the information.
Spring Trash Day
Because of the move of the date of the Maple Festival to the last weekend in April, Spring Trash Day has been moved up to the third Saturday in April. On April 20, residents may bring all of their accumulated “trash” to the township park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The township cannot take garbage, yard waste, hazardous chemicals or paint that is not dried in the can. Appliances do not have to have the Freon removed. Electronics will not be accepted; however, there is a computer recycling container at the park year round.
Tire recycling will be offered; no commercial truck or tractor tires. All tires must be removed from the rims.
Shredding will not be offered this spring.
For more information, call the township hall at 440-286-4364.
Hambden Community Picnic
This year’s picnic is a go. A few new residents have shown an interest in helping out and let’s face it, it’s hard to let such a long standing tradition go.
The community picnic will take place Aug. 11 from 1-5 p.m. at the township park.
A band has been booked and Banjo the Clown will be back.
The committee will meet at 5:30 p.m. April 16 at the township hall. Anyone interested in being involved is welcome to attend.
