NAMI Geauga County

At the Rookery
The Geauga Park District invites children ages 3 to 5 years, accompanied by an adult, to a “Timbertots Outstanding Owls” program Feb. 21 and 22, from 10-11 a.m. and 1-2 p.m., at the Rookery in Munson.

At the Senior Center
The Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson, offers line dancing and round dancing every Monday and Tuesday. For class time and more information, call 440-279-2130.
Also, at the Chardon Senior Center, a birthday bash honoring senior residents with February birthdays will be held Feb. 24, from noon-1 p.m., with entertainment by Fred Sivillo. Reservations required at 440-279-2130.

Donations/Volunteers Needed
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin will hold its annual Mane Event on March 16. Donations of gift cards, merchandise and vacation rentals will be appreciated to raise funds for the school’s scholarships.

Historic Tidbit
Presidents Day will be observed Feb. 15. Two of the country’s greatest presidents were the inspiration for this national holiday.
George Washington, the country’s first president, was born Feb. 22, 1732. He took office as president in New York City April 30, 1789, and served two terms.
Abraham Lincoln, the country’s 16th president, was born Feb. 12, 1809. He took office March 1861, and was assassinated April 14, 1865. Both of these great leaders were the inspiration of what is now known as Presidents Day and is observed as a national holiday.
