Munsonite Kelly Lynch, 2013 Chardon High School graduate, was named to the dean’s list at Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, Pa. She was also inducted into the SRU Honor Society and Young Leaders and Scholars Organization.

Munson Elementary Birthday 2015
Munson Elementary School will be celebrating its 60th birthday in 2015. The school’s alumni are needed to assist the committee in locating school memorabilia, including class photos, newsletters and newspaper articles.

Boy Scout Troop 261
Boy Scout Troop 261 is seeking new members. The troop meets Mondays from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Chardon POE.
Meetings, which are open to visitors by appointment, give young boys the opportunity to learn about the activities of scouting. Scouting instills self-confidence, personal responsibility and a sense of achievement.

With the Arts
An opening reception for the winter art invitational will be held Nov. 14 from 5-9 p.m. at the Florence Wasmer Gallery, Ursuline College, 2550 Lander Road, Pepper Pike. There will be a live performance by Spirit Stoker, classic rock and blues.
Refreshments served. The event is free and open to the public. The show continues through Jan. 16.

At the Senior Center
The following are scheduled to be held at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson:
Boston Health Care will host Turkey Bowling, Nov. 17 at 12:30 p.m. Refreshments provided.
Kidney disease will be discussed by Natalie Wells, RN, Nov. 18 at 12:30 p.m.
Dr. Steven Arnold will speak on alternative medicined with a question and answer session following, Nov. 19 at 12:30 p.m.
Reservations are not necessary for these events.
The Chardon Senior Center will be closed Nov. 27 in observance of Thanksgiving Day and Nov. 28 for Staff Work Day.
Friends of WomenSafe Theater Party
The Friends of WomenSafe, an all-volunteer organization, will be hosting a fundraiser at 2 p.m. Nov. 30 with the presentation of “Oliver” at the Chagrin Valley Little Theater, 40 River St., Chagrin Falls. The event is made possible with the support of Junction Auto Sales of Munson Township.
There will be a Chinese auction, refreshments and beverages at intermission. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for children 10 and younger.

Proceeds benefit the services and shelter offered to victims of domestic abuse at WomenSafe’s Green House on Ravenna Road in Munson.
