The Geauga Park District invites nature lovers to observe aerial ballet by American woodcocks and migratory waterfowl on the lake April 18, from 7-8:30 p.m., at Walter C. Best Preserve, 11620 Ravenna Road, Munson.

Bring field glasses and dress for the weather. Meet at the back parking lot.

At the Senior Center

Judge Tim Grendell will be the guest speaker at 12:30 p.m. April 21 at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson. Judge Grendell will speak on Ohio probate law and the probate court process.

Also at the Chardon Senior Center, the Show Biz Kids senior theater group from Lake County will entertain April 22 at 1 p.m.

Spring Cleanup Day

On April 25, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Munson Township residents may bring large items and boxes of accumulated items to the Vetter Field parking lot behind the Munson Township Fire Station, 12200 Auburn Road. The service is free.

Items accepted include unbroken car batteries, lawn mowers and car tires removed from rims. Small materials must be in strong boxes or containers.

Television sets, computers, electronics, cardboard, newspaper, construction debris, liquids, paints, rocks, yard waste and household garbage will not be accepted. Identification may be requested. Call the township office for further details or if you have a junk auto or truck to dispose of, 440-286-9255.

NDES Preschool Preview

Notre Dame Elementary School, 13000 Auburn Road, Munson, invites parents and children of preschool age to a Preschool Preview on April 25 from 10 a.m. to noon. The preview gives each prospective student the opportunity to meet the teachers, enjoy story time and a snack.

WomenSafe Spring Luncheon

The Friends of WomenSafe, Inc. (FOW) extend an invitation to the 16th annual FOW Spring Luncheon taking place May 13 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Banquet Room, 401 North St., Chardon. There will be a Chinese auction for a variety of items; music by harpist Virginia Dickson; guest speaker Tami Brown, executive director of the Cleveland Aquarium; and lunch by Reserve House Catering.

Tickets are $30 each or $35 for a vegan lunch. Reservations sell out quickly

Proceeds benefit the services and accommodations offered to victims of domestic violence at The Green House, Ravenna Road, Munson.

Volunteers Needed

The Geauga County Animal Community Response Team A-Cert is seeking volunteers to join its spring training session starting May 4. Training deals with rescuing household pets during emergencies.

Amateur Radio Association

The Geauga Amateur Radio Association (GARA) will meet April 27 at 7 p.m. at the Geauga County Emergency Operation Center, 12518 Merritt Road, Munson. The monthly meetings are open to all licensed “hams” and those interested in learning about this type of international talk radio.
