Historic Tidbit

The Fourth of July was declared Independence Day in 1776 when the 13 English colonies in America asserted their independence of Great Britain through action by the Continental Congress. The document, drafted by Thomas Jefferson and offered as a resolution by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia, was signed at Independence Hall in Philadelphia by 56 patriots.

Fly the beautiful U.S. flag on this special day and give silent thanks to those who have given and continue to give so much for this great country.
