Township Board Openings
Munson Township is asking residents who may be interested in voluntary service on the township’s Park & Recreation Board or Zoning Commission to submit a letter of interest and resume to the Munson Township Board of Trustees, 12210 Auburn Road, Chardon, OH 44024.
Items may also be dropped off at the office weekdays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call the office, 440-286-9255.
Absentee Ballot Forms
Absentee ballot registrations forms for the Nov. 3, 2015, election are available at the Geauga County Board of Elections, 470 Center St., Building 6-A, Chardon. High school graduates from the class of 2015 are urged to register to ensure eligibility to vote this year.
Completed registration forms must be received 30 days prior to Election Day. College students can also vote using absentee ballots.

At the Senior Center
Adult Day Services are offered Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson. The service is a social, non-medical program offering physical and cognitive activities and a nutritional lunch to Geauga County seniors with early-to-mid-stage memory loss, cognitive impairment or Alzheimer’s disease.

Park District Volunteers
The Geauga Park District (GPD) is seeking volunteers to help with visitors at various parks in Geauga County. A group orientation session is scheduled for Sept. 16 from 7-8 p.m. at West Woods Nature Center in Russell Township. Holly Sauder, volunteer coordinator, will review the process of becoming “official” and try to match each volunteer’s interests with the park guidelines.
The GPD has three parks in Munson Township: Bass Lake Preserve, 11445 Lakeview Drive; The Rookery, 10110 Cedar Road; and Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve, 11620 Ravenna Road, that may be of interest to Munson residents considering volunteer work.

Free Sunday Dinner
St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Munson, will offer a free dinner Aug. 2, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Fellowship Room. There will be soups, breads, salads, desserts and more.
Donations are not necessary, but will be appreciated. Preregistration is not required.

WomenSafe Shelter Donations
WomenSafe is always in need of cleaning supplies, trash bags, new women’s and children’s clothing and miscellaneous items for the victims of abuse and domestic violence who are offered temporary shelter at WomenSafe’s Green House on Ravenna Road in Munson.

Reminder
Munson Township’s annual Com-munity Day celebration will be held Aug. 1, rain or shine, from 12-5 p.m. at Munson Township Park on Bass Lake Road. It will be a fun-filled family event with food, entertainment, raffles, prizes and more.
