Thanks goes to Lucy Longo for her devoted voluntary service on the Munson Township Board of Zoning Appeals from January 2001 to August 2015. Lucy began as an alternate member and became a regular member in 2001. She was well informed on Munson’s zoning laws and made valid contributions at meetings.
She will be missed. Best wishes go to Lucy and her husband, Ken Longo.
At the Rookery
The Geauga Park District invites all bird lovers to view the “quiet migration” and identify migrating songless birds in autumn plumage on Sept. 19 from 8-9:30 a.m. at The Rookery in Munson Township. Bring binoculars.

Congressman Joyce at Auburn CC
Congressman David Joyce will sponsor a U.S. Military Academy information session at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at Auburn Career Center, 8140 Auburn Road, Concord. Representatives from all divisions of our Armed Forces will be there to speak about the various academies and application processes involved.

Sisters of ND BBQ
The Sisters of Notre Dame will host their 53rd annual Barbecue and Boutique Sept. 20 and 27, rain or shine, from 12-5 p.m. at the Notre Dame Cathedral Latin campus, 13000 Auburn Road, Munson.
There will be barbecue chicken at $12 and barbecue ribs at $15. There will also be a country store, raffles, antique cars and children’s games. All tickets are available at the door. Carryouts available.
GCAC Organizational Meeting
The Geauga Council for Arts & Culture will hold its annual organizational meeting Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Munson Township Hall. Volunteers are needed as board members and to help with the various art projects the GCAC sponsors throughout the year at various Geauga County locations.

Burton Art Show
Geauga County artists, 16 years and older, are invited to enter their work Sept. 28 from 5-7:45 p.m. for the 2015 Burton Art Show to be held at the Burton Library Oct. 6-11. Work previously exhibited in the Burton Art Show is not acceptable.
Awards will be presented at a preview reception on Oct. 5 from 7-8:30 p.m. Entry forms and more information are available at the library.
