Geauga County Dog Shelter
Please consider a tax-deductible monetary donation or dog food, treats, and blankets to the Geauga County Dog Shelter, 12513 Merritt Road, Munson. The shelter’s only monetary income is from the sale of dog licenses, adoptions, fines and donations. The shelter does not receive anything from county real estate taxes.

Heroes of Conservation Reception
Protect Geauga Parks is hosting a dinner and reception to honor those who have worked for conservation in Geauga County. Honorees are the late Judge Charles “Chip” Henry, Dr. Joseph and Betty Koelliker, and Robert McCullough. The event will be held Nov. 15 from 2-9 p.m. at Munson Township Hall.
At the Senior Center
A Geauga Park District ranger will speak on “Nature Prepares for Winter” Nov. 15 from 12:45-1:30 p.m. at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson. Reservations are not necessary.
Also at the Chardon Senior Center, the monthly birthday bash for all seniors celebrating November birthdays will be held Nov. 25 from 12-1 p.m., with entertainment by Ralph Szubski. Call 440-279-2130 for reservations.
All Geauga County senior centers will be closed Nov. 26 and 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Celebrate Recovery
A 12-Step Christian addictions recovery program is offered at Morning Star Friends Church, 12550 Ravenna Road, Munson. The next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Nov. 18.
The weekly meetings are open to all. Fellowship and a meal are served at 6:15 p.m. For more information, call 440-286-2510.
GPD Volunteer Orientation
The Geauga Park District (GPD) will have a volunteer orientation meeting at the GPD’s West Woods Nature Center Nov. 23 from 4-7 p.m. This will be an opportunity for those interested in volunteering to begin the application process.
There are three parks in Munson Township that may be of interest to Munson residents: The Rookery, Bass Lake Preserve and Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve.

WomenSafe Theater Party
Friends of WomenSafe (FOW) will host a matinee performance of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”at the Chagrin Valley Little Theater Nov. 29. Doors open at 1 p.m. and the play starts at 2 p.m. There will be a raffle and complimentary refreshments. Tickets are $29 for adults and $15 for children 10 and younger.
The occasion is sponsored by Junction Auto Sales based in Munson Township. All proceeds benefit the free services and accommodations offered to victims of domestic violence at WomenSafe’s Green House on Ravenna Road in Munson Township.
NDES Annual Luncheon
Volunteers with Notre Dame Elementary School (NDES) Munson are extending an invitation to the 30th annual NDES Christmas luncheon and auction to be held Dec. 3 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the LaMalfa Centre, 5783 Heisley Road, Mentor.
In addition to a delicious lunch, there will be more than 175 prizes. Proceeds benefit various programs at the school.
