Address Signs
The Munson Township Fire Depart-ment recommends all residents place a green reflective address sign at the end of their driveway for easy location by emergency responders especially in case of fire or a heavy snowfall. Address signs are available for only $10 at the Munson Fire Station, 12200 Auburn Road.
No. 1 Dog Essay Contest
Geauga County Auditor Frank Gliha awarded Kenston Intermediate School fourth-grader Emily Collier and her dog Stella the #1 Dog Tag Award for her essay “Why My Dog is #1. There were 11 entries in the contest.
A Munson resident who believes “No child should be left behind” and wishes to remain anonymous has donated sufficient funds for the other entrants to obtain a license for their “#1 Dog” if so desired.
At the Senior Center
The Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson, will have a “Birthday Bash Lunch” to celebrate December birthdays with Fred Sivillo. For reservations, call 440-279-2130.
The Renaissance Singers are looking for members to join the group, which performs a varied program and entertains at nursing homes, Great Lakes Mall and other locations. The group rehearses at the Chardon Senior Center at 10:30 a.m. Thursdays. Performances are generally on Thursday afternoons. If one likes to sing, just show up any Thursday morning. No auditions necessary.
Please note: Chardon Senior Center will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday.
WomenSafe Resale Shoppe
For unusual Christmas gifts at bargain prices, visit the WomenSafe Resale Shoppe, 12601 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township, in the DrugMart Plaza. The shop offers clothing, household items, artwork and antiques There are many beautiful, useful items in this shop, which is very well maintained by volunteers.
The shop is open Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Save the Date
Join the New Year’s Eve nature celebration on Dec. 31 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Geauga Park District’s Rookery in Munson. Snacks and beverages will be served. The party, with fun for all ages, will be held in the Great Blue Heron Lodge with a “toast” at noon.
