Helping Others at Thanksgiving
Newbury Elementary Student Council sponsored two activities to help others. First, it sponsored a food drive. Students brought in dry goods, canned items, boxed items and paper products to help those in need. As an incentive, the class that brought in the most items was given the opportunity to “silly string” the principal, Mrs. Tomassetti, in front of the whole school.
Student Council is also selling Gobble Grams. Students were able to purchase a candy gram for 25 cents to send a candy treat to a friend, relative, teacher, bus driver, coach or aid. All proceeds are used to help those in need.
