Nature Fun For Kids

Geauga Park District has planned several programs for children ages 6 to 11. Registration is required for all programs.

Nature Explorers will turn explorers into investigators of skin and bones of our local mammals on Oct. 29 and then celebrate the winter solstice and learn how different cultures did the same on Dec. 30. Both programs take place from 10 a.m. to noon at The West Woods Nature Center. Separate sessions are led for ages 6 to 7 and 8 to 11. The programs are drop-off only.

Then, on Dec. 28, Nature Drawing for Kids offers up some handy pencil-and-paper techniques for sketching and cartooning animals and plants, with time to practice, plus tricks for how to make a photo-realistic drawing without tracing. The program will be held at The West Woods from 11 a.m. to noon for ages 8 to 11, then from 1-2 p.m. for ages 12 to 15.
