Young of Heart

May 6, noon

St. Anselm Young of Heart will meet at the parish center. Speaker Noelle Akin from Petitti Garden Center will talk about spring planting and bring some new plants that will be raffled.

A three-day trip has been planned to the Finger Lakes in New York. Included is the Belhurst Castle, the orning Museum of Glass, the Willard Memorial Chapel, Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion, a scenic lake cruise and much more. Cost is $399 or $408 for non-members.

A trip to Canada is planned for Sept. 18-25. The group will be going to Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City and Niagara Falls. A passport is needed.

Lots of Locks: May 11, 10:30 a.m. Summit County Historical Society will present Lots of Locks: A Canal Story Highlights from the Ohio and Erie Canal from 1825 to the flood of 1913, including why it was built and what it was like living on a canal boat.

Master Gardeners – Herb Growing: May 18: 10:30 a.m. Learn the benefits of growing herbs. All registered participants will receive an herb to take home. Cost is $5 per person.

Guidelines for May and June Senior Trash Pickups

In order to be placed on the cleanup list, one must first be registered with the Geauga County Department on Aging, be 60 years of age or older and live in the community holding the trash pickup. The Department on Aging employees, volunteers and local service departments will remove unwanted items from seniors’ homes, saving seniors the time and effort of taking it themselves.
