Smoke Detector Battery Assist
FirstLight HomeCare, a provider of quality, affordable, nonmedical in-home care for adults, has partnered with the Geauga County Department in Aging, for the Spring and Fall Smoke Detector Battery Assist. Smoke detectors are typically located on the ceiling or high on the wall, which can present a fall hazard for the elderly when changing batteries.
Geauga seniors, 60 and older, who need to have their smoke or carbon monoxide detector batteries replaced can call the Geauga County Department on Aging for help. Once registered with the GDA, a representative from FirstLight HomeCare will schedule a time to come out and replace the old smoke detector batteries with new batteries supplied by the department on aging.
Call 440-279-2130, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
