Senior Trash Pickup
Sept. 21 and 22
In order to be placed on the cleanup list, one must first be registered with the Geauga County Department on Aging, be 60 years of age or older and live in Russell Township.
As a special service to senior residents, Russell Township and the Department on Aging will pick up refuse from the seniors who need assistance. Have items ready to be moved out the evening before the pickup. Do not leave items curbside.
No liquids, paints, antifreeze or motor oil, hazardous materials, plastic-coated wire, construction debris, rocks, yard waste, tree trunks or household garbage will be accepted.
Metal items, appliances, televisions and electronic equipment will be accepted. Mattresses must be wrapped in plastic and taped securely. Only 10 household items per home and the trash should be from the registered senior’s household only.
No tires will be picked up, as Russell will have a separate tire pickup in August. Smaller materials should be consolidated in strong boxes and kept dry (tarped) if possible.
Have items ready to be moved out the evening before the pickup. Do not leave items by curbside.
For more information or to register, call the Department on Aging at 440-279-2129 or 440-279-2130 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
