The Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP 4527 will meet at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road.
Ron Sluga, a musician that plays a variety of instruments, will provide an entertaining program.
Non-perishable food and staples will be collected for the Food for Friends food pantry as well as donations of dog food, hot dogs, blankets and money for the Geauga County Dog Shelter.
If the Kenston School system is closed due to the weather, the meeting will also be cancelled. Check local television stations for school closings.

Free Computer Workshops
Geauga County Department on Aging and Geauga County Public Library are partnering together to offer the following series of free computer classes to Geauga seniors in the Chagrin Falls Park Community Center Computer Lab, which is in the same building as the Chagrin Falls Senior Center, 7060 Woodland Ave. in Bainbridge Township.
A representative from the Bainbridge Library will be teaching: Basic Computer Terminology – March 1; Word Processing and Troubleshooting – March 8; Surfing the Web and Internet Safety – March 15; Email – March 22; and Fun with Facebook – March 29.

Blood Pressure Demonstration

Demonstration presented by Jerri from h Choices, after the 11:15 a.m. exercise class at the West Geauga Senior Center.
Learn how to take one’s blood pressure on the center’s wellness station. Jerri will show seniors how to create an account so they can keep track of how they’re doing, as well as other features that the kiosk can provide.
Free Memory Screenings
March 7
Cheryl Hallowell, from UH Geauga’s Senior Adult Assessment Program, will offer memory screenings to provide seniors with their baseline numbers. These sessions will be held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the local Geauga County Senior Centers throughout the current year.

Got Critters?
Ken Smith, from Animal X “Critter Control, will present the 2017 home safety presentation: “Wildlife Around Your Home” at all four senior centers talk about the animals in and around the home and answer questions regarding the wildlife in Geauga County.
He will speak on March 8 at 12:30 p.m. at Middlefield Senior Center; March 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Chardon Senior Center; March 23 at 12:30 p.m. at Chagrin Falls Senior Center; and March 30 at 11 a.m. at West Geauga Senior Center.

Join the Chardon Senior Center for a free series on nutrition related topics in March. Preparing An Estate Plan

Middlefield Speaker Series

Matter of Balance Class
University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, Windsor House at Burton Health Care Center, Hospice of the Western Reserve and Geauga Department on Aging are offering Matter of Balance classes to Geauga seniors interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength and in preventing falls.
Classes will be held Fridays, March 3 to April 28, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Burton Health Care Center, 14095 E. Center St. in Burton.
Seniors will learn to manage concerns about falls as well as set realistic goals for staying active, learn how to stay safe at home, complete exercises to increase strength and balance and learn how to identify and control the fear of falling.
This class is free for registered seniors. Space is limited.

Daytime Senior Book Groups
Seniors who love to read are invited to join in interesting discussions on a variety of books.
Book discussion groups are held the second Monday of each month at Geauga West Library from 1-2 p.m. and the second Thursday of each month at Burton Public Library from 1:30-3 p.m.
A group will discuss “Circling the Sun” by Paula McClain on March 9 at Geauga West Library and “The Wright Brothers” by David McCullough on March 13 at Burton Library.
Discussion books are available for loan at the hosting library. Call the library to reserve a book.
Revelers To The River
March 11, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Join the Geauga County Department on Aging for its first spring fundraiser, a bus trip to The Rivers Casino and points of interest on one’s own in downtown Pittsburgh. The bus departs from the Chardon Senior Center. Those attending must be 21 or older. Plan to spend approximately five hours in Pittsburgh.
Tickets are $45 per person, with $25 back in bonuses from the casino. The casino requires guests bring photo I.D. Payments may be dropped off or mailed to a local senior center.
There will be door prizes en route to Pittsburgh and chances to win other prizes and games. Morning and evening snacks will be provided.
Proceeds benefit the Delivered Meals Program.
