Matter of Balance
The Geauga County Department on Aging is offering Matter of Balance classes to Geauga seniors interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength and in preventing falls.
The four-week session meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning Oct. 20 and running through Nov. 12 at the West Geauga Senior Center, 11414 Caves Road in Chester Township. Cost is $20.
Seniors will learn to manage concerns about falls as well as set realistic goals for staying active, learn how to stay safe at home, complete exercises to increase strength and balance and learn how to identify and control the fear of falling.

Senior Flu Shots
Flu shots will be offered at all four Geauga County Department on Aging Senior Center locations through the Geauga Health Department.

Call the local senior center to set a time and a vaccine will be waiting. Bring insurance card. Cost of flu shot is $35, or $50 for high dose vaccine if paying in cash. Most insurance plans are accepted.
Flu shots are given by Geauga County Health Department; seniors may also preregister by calling 440-279-1950.
Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP
Oct. 6, 1 p.m.
The Bainbridge/Chagrin AARP 4527 will meet at the Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road.
The program will be “Music with Judy,” featuring vocal entertainer Judy Crawford. She will sing the songs of Irving Berlin, George Gershwin and Cole Porter.
After the program, there will be a brief meeting and information the last trip of the season to Seneca Allegany Casino in New York on Oct. 21. Cost is $38, with a $20 casino bonus and $5 food bonus. For information and reservations, call Skip or Marge, 440-338-3607.
