St. Anselm Young of Heart will meet at the parish center. Speaker John Frato will bring back memories of Euclid Beach.

Bring a brown bag lunch. Dessert and beverage will be provided.

There will be a New Year’s Eve trip to Amish country. Included are lunch and show at the Carlisle Inn in Sugar Creek. There will also be a matinee show at the Amish Country Theater and several other attractions, as well as an overnight stay at the Comfort Inn of Dover. Cost is $210 ($216 for non-members).

Shindig to Support Geauga Seniors

Oct. 24, 5 p.m.

Geauga Department on Aging is hosting a “Shindig & Schnitzel” to support senior services at the E.O.U.V. Club located at 8636 Pekin Road in Russell Township.

Doors open at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. Event features cash bar, raffle and musical entertainment by Once Again.

Cost is $45 per person or $400 for table that includes eight guests, beverage and 40 raffle tickets.

Understanding Medicare

Geauga Department on Aging has OSHIIP (Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information) certified staff and volunteers trained by the Ohio Department of Insurance. Get accurate and impartial information about Medicare, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D drug plans.

Seniors can schedule one-on-one review appointments with GDA staff Monday through Friday, Oct. 19 through Dec. 4. Call 440-279-2130 to schedule an appointment.

The Ohio Department of Insurance will conduct a Medicare Check Up presentation at 11 a.m. Oct. 27 at Chardon Senior Center.

Halloween Party

Oct. 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A “Munster” Halloween party will be held for Geauga County senior citizens at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive.

There will be pizza and snacks and tricks and treats. Dress up as characters from “The Munsters” or “The Addams Family.”

A $3 donation will be accepted to cover costs; registration is required.
