The Memory Café is a group of local professionals with a shared mission to provide education and recreation for those touched by dementia.

  • Tornado Safety Presentation: March 20, 11 a.m. Presented by Geauga Department on Emergency Services.
  • The Cleveland Storyteller: March 20, 1 p.m. Women of Millionaires Row.
  • Bed Bugs and Home Safety: March 21, 12:30 p.m. Home Safety Chore & Home Safety coordinator Bob Debevits and Lucas Pest Control will talk about home safety and how to stop the growing epidemic of bed bugs.

  • UHHS Health Talk: March 21, 10:30 a.m. UH Geauga’s Dr. Silver will speak on hip and knee pain in seniors as well as treatments. The therapy department will also provide exercise tips to ease those aches and pains.
  • Intro to Computers: March 27. Led by and held at Middlefield Library, learn about the basics of having a computer. Transportation from the senior center provided.

  • “The Original Meaning of the First Amendment“: March 29, 11 a.m. Presented by former attorney David Welty. RSVP by March 19 if staying for lunch.

The Memory Cafe

The Memory Café is a group of local professionals with a shared mission to provide education and recreation for those touched by dementia.

Spend time with recreational therapist Vicki Krueger and experience games and activities one can enjoy at home to enhance the quality of life for those with dementia and their loved ones. The café will be held at the Geauga West Library, 13455 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township.

Space is limited; reservations are required. Call Vicki Krueger at 440-279-2149 with any questions.

Geauga Senior Spring Fling

March 27, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Geauga County Department on Aging will be kick off spring with a hamburger and hot dog style cookout lunch and music by Singin Sam Frosh Jr. The event will be held at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive.

Cost is $15 per person. Call 440-279-2130 to register by March 19.
