Snow Plowing

Yep, it finally happened — we have to plow snow at last!

Road Superintendent Dave Heald wants me to remind you that when you plow your snow, you need to keep it on your property.

Do not plow it across the road and leave half of it in the roadway. This practice makes it dangerous for other drivers and when you plow across the road you often block the way to your neighbor’s mail box. If any obstructions are left in the road, it is not safe and is against the law.

Township Meetings

In 2013, our township meetings will remain on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the township hall.

This year’s chairman will be Keith McClintock. Ed Kaminski will serve as vice chairman.

Trustee liaison assignments will be made at our Jan. 3 organizational meeting.

Please remember that all residents are always welcome at our meetings. This is your township and we value your input.

Our Zoning Commission will meet on the first Monday of each month and Our BZA as needed. All meeting dates and times are posted on the sign in front of the township hall.

Christmas Tree Recycling

We are recycling Christmas trees again this year.

We were lucky enough to receive a grant from Geauga-Trumbull Solid Waste Management District to pay for the cost of this service.

The recycling bin is at the township park and will stay there until mid January. Trees can be dropped off between dawn and dusk.

Please remember there will not be assistance for you when unloading your tree and putting it in the container.

Only Christmas trees can be placed in this container, which is clearly marked.

Also, another reminder, that no recyclables should be left on the ground at the recycling center. Often the back containers have plenty of room in them and items are left on the ground by the front row of containers.

Be sure to check and if all containers are full, please take your items home and check back in a couple of days. The containers are emptied at least twice a week.
