Celebrate Recovery
Morning Star Friends Church, 12550 Ravenna Road, Munson, invites all who are seeking to end an addiction to the next Celebrate Recovery meeting, 7 p.m., July 15. This is a Christian 12-step Recovery Program, which is free and open to the public. There will be fellowship and a meal served at 6:15 p.m. For further information, call 440-286-2510.
At Walter C. Best Preserve
The Geauga Park District will hold a “Hound-Hike,” 7-8:30 p.m., July 16, at the Walter C. Best Wildlife Preserve, Sunset Shelter, 11620 Ravenna Road, Munson. Geauga Family First Council
The Geauga Family First Council will meet at 2:30 p.m., July 20, at Geauga County Job & Family Services, 12480 Ravenwood Drive, Munson. The monthly meetings are free and offer support, understanding, and help with family problems as provided by various Geauga County agencies. Pre-registration is not necessary. Munson’s Community Day
Munson Township will celebrate its annual Community Day, rain or shine, 12-5 p.m., Aug. 1, at Munson Township Park, Bass Lake Road. There will be a free picnic meal served noon-3 p.m., Euclid Beach rocket car rides, U.H. helicopter arrival at 1:30 p.m., fun with Magician Rick Smith, Flower Clown, raffles and auction. The event is free for Munson residents. Volunteers needed to help clean up at closing time, 5 p.m. For more information, call 440-286-9255.
GCAC Juried Art Show
The Annual Juried Art Show, sponsored by the Geauga Council for Arts & Culture, will be held Aug. 6-15 at the Geauga Park District’s West Woods Nature Center, Kinsman Road, Russell Township. All northern Ohio artists, 16 years and older, are eligible to enter. There will be a reception with awards the evening of Aug. 15. Membership in the GCAC is open to all. 41st Annual Senior Celebration
The Geauga County Department on Aging invites registered Geauga County seniors to the 41st annual Senior Celebration, 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Aug. 10, at the Notre Dame Educational Center, 13000 Auburn Road, Munson. There will be a prayer service, speakers from Building Hope in the City and lunch catered by Aladdin Food Service.
Registrations, with check for $10 per Geauga County senior and $12 per out-of county senior, can be mailed or brought to the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson OH 44024.
