Absentee Ballots Available

Absentee ballots will be available beginning Oct. 6 for the Nov. 3 General Election. Voters who wish to vote an absentee ballot may submit a request to the Geauga County Board of Elections by calling 440-279-2030 or by going to the board website http://www.co.geauga.oh.us/Departments/BOE/Important-Voter-Information and downloading an application, filling it out, signing it and mailing it to the board office at 470 Center Street, Bldg. 6-A, Chardon OH, 44024.

Voters can get a blank application by clicking on the “Absentee” tab. If they go to “Voter Information” and use the voter look-up tab, the application will be pre-populated with the voter’s name and address.

The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot to be mailed is noon

Oct. 31. All voter absentee ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 2 or hand delivered to the board of elections office by 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3.

GMHA Taking Applications

Effective Oct. 13 through Oct. 27, the Geauga Metropolitan Housing Auth-ority will be taking applications for the Section 8 waiting list by mail.

Envelopes must be postmarked between Oct. 13 and Oct. 27. Applica-tions will not be accepted by fax.

Applications available for download on website geaugamha.org or in the foyer at GMHA office, 385 Center St., Chardon.

A copy of photo I.D. and social security card must be provided with the application.
