Almost a year after the resignation of former Treasurer Sherry Williamson, Auburn Career Center tapped Jason Crowe to fill the vacancy March 25.

“I am honored and excited to join Auburn Career Center,” Crowe said in a March 25 press release. “I look forward to becoming part of the Auburn community and working alongside the board of education, leadership team, staff and community partners to serve the students and families of Lake and Geauga counties. Auburn has a strong reputation for excellence and I am eager to contribute to that continued success.”

According to his resume, Crowe most recently served as executive director of human resources and operations at Rocky River City Schools, where he was responsible for recruitment, hiring, performance management, leave administration and employee relations for administrative, certified and classified staff. In that role, he also managed multimillion-dollar budgets for the department.

He previously served as career-technical education coordinator and later principal at Mentor High School. Prior to that, he was assistant principal at Memorial Middle School, according to his resume.

A graduate of Cleveland State University, Crowe holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and master’s degree in educational administration. He also holds a school treasurer license, among several other credentials.

According to his resume, he is pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership at Youngstown State University and is expected to complete the program in 2027.

“My experience developing a five-year capital improvement plan, administering benefits and healthcare consortium participation, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations has strengthened my ability to support both financial stewardship and organizational stability,” he said in his cover letter, adding the position requires a unique understanding of both finance and career-technical education.

ACC Superintendent Joe Glavan enthusiastically welcomed Crowe to the team.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Jason to Auburn Career Center,” he said in the press release. “His background in career-technical education, combined with his proven leadership in finance and operations, makes him an outstanding addition to our team. His past administrative experience in career-technical education and his tenure as principal of Mentor High School will be invaluable as we collaborate to expand opportunities, strengthen regional workforce development efforts and lead Auburn’s next stage of growth for Northeast Ohio students.”

Similarly, board President Roger Miller expressed confidence in the appointment.

“The board is confident that Jason Crowe is the right leader to guide Auburn’s financial and operational future,” he said. “His experience, vision and commitment to student success align perfectly with our mission. We are excited about the impact he will have on our district and the communities we serve.”
