A gas station in Hambden Township beat the odds when it sold two winning tickets to the Nov. 10 Rolling Cash 5 drawing, according to a Nov. 10 Ohio Lottery press release.
The Rolling Cash 5, which starts with a jackpot of $100,000, has drawings daily, the release said.
“The odds of matching all five numbers is 1 in 575,757,” it added.
The tickets, sold at Hambden Corners, won the $182,000 jackpot, which the winners plan to split, the release said.
Both players selected 3-6-7-15-34 on manual pick tickets as their lucky numbers.
According to the release, they will take home $66,316 each after taxes.
“Everybody was really excited and we were honestly hoping it was one of our regulars,” said Hambden Corners manager Heidi Hosmer Nov. 18. “People come in every day and play the same number every week. We’re not sure (if it was a regular) because nobody’s telling us and the (Ohio) Lottery is not going to let us know.”
Ohio is a state that allows lottery winners to remain anonymous.
“Everybody has been coming in saying this is a lucky place, so we’ve definitely sold a lot more tickets this week,” Hosmer said with a laugh.
The recent win is not the first time someone struck gold in the county this year — A Sept. 17 press release from the Ohio Lottery recounted an anonymous winner going home with $36,000 after taxes on a $50,000 Billion Scratch-Off purchased at a Walmart in Geauga County.
