Larry Heiden Re-Hired to the Position of Multi-Certified Inspector III

Geauga County Commissioners unanimously voted Feb. 9 to rehire Larry Heiden as a multi-certified inspector for the county building department.
Due to a lack of applicants with proper credentials, Daniel Spada, chief building official, decided to ask Heiden if he would be interested in coming out of retirement, Spada said during the meeting.
“Larry is a dedicated worker for our department and has been his entire career here. His knowledge of the department and just the county in general is so beneficial,” Spada said.
He said it will be a busy year for the building department.
“Our January this year was actually better than last year’s January and then with the developments of Geauga Lake and the three out here in Chardon, it looks like it’s shaping up to be a good moving construction year,” Spada said, adding Heiden will start March 1.
Commissioner Jim Dvorak added, “I know Larry has been a great public servant for Geauga County and has been around for a long time. He is like the encyclopedia of the building department.”
