Motorcyclist Dies in Parkman Crash

A horse-drawn buggy was struck by a motorcycle on state Route 528 Tuesday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, causing a fatal crash.

A horse-drawn buggy was struck by a motorcycle on state Route 528 Tuesday afternoon, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, causing a fatal crash.

The motorcycle’s driver, Brandon Lee, 26, of Middlefield, was pronounced dead at the scene, the OHP said.

The four occupants of the buggy, including the operator, Daniel Miller, 26, of Middlefield, and two children, were injured.

According to a news release, the following occurred:

Just after 5 p.m., the buggy was making a left turn from southbound State Route 528 into a private drive just north of State Route 88 when it was struck by the motorcycle, which was also southbound on Route 528.

Troopers from the Chardon Post of the OHP were dispatched to the crash along with emergency personnel from Middlefield and Parkman Fire Departments. Deputies from the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office also responded.

Two of the buggy’s occupants have serious injuries. One child has suspected minor injuries, and another child has life-threatening injuries.

The OHP also stated: Lee was wearing his helmet. It is unclear if alcohol/and or drugs are a factor in the crash. The crash is still under investigation.
